Rain test chamber

The rain test chamber is an environmental reliability testing equipment specifically designed to simulate the natural rainfall environment. By artificially recreating different intensities, angles, and rainfall volumes of rainfall scenarios, it tests and evaluates the waterproof performance of products. Its core value lies in helping enterprises identify potential sealing defects and performance degradation issues of products in the rain environment during the product development, production inspection, and quality control processes. This helps enhance the reliability and safety of the products in actual use, and it is widely applied in various fields such as electronics and electrical engineering, automotive manufacturing, aerospace, medical devices, outdoor lighting, etc.

Structure and Working Principle

1.Test chamber: As the core space for the test, it is usually made of stainless steel and has excellent corrosion resistance and sealing properties. It can effectively collect recycled rainwater and prevent water from overflowing during the test. The inner walls of the chamber are designed to be smooth for easy cleaning. Some chambers also have observation windows and lighting devices to facilitate real-time monitoring of the test process.
2.Water supply system: Composed of a water tank, a water pump, a filter, and piping, it is responsible for providing a stable and clean water source for the spray system. The water tank is usually equipped with a water level monitoring device to achieve automatic water replenishment; the filter can remove impurities from the water to prevent nozzle blockage and affect the test results; the power of the water pump can be adjusted according to the test requirements to ensure the stability of the spray pressure. 

3.Sprinkler system: It is the core component for simulating rainfall. Depending on the test level, it is divided into drip device, swing pipe device and nozzle device. The drip device consists of multiple evenly distributed drip holes and is used for drip tests of IPX1/IPX2; the swing pipe device is driven by a motor to rotate the swing pipe around the sample, and the swing angle can be adjusted within the range of 0°-360° to achieve different angles of rain shower; the nozzle device can generate high-pressure water flow and is used for spray tests of IPX5/IPX6. Some nozzles can also adjust the spray angle and flow rate. 

4. Control System: The system adopts a PLC control system combined with a touch screen operation interface, enabling precise setting and automatic control of test parameters. Operators can set parameters such as test duration, spray pressure, swing tube angle, and sample rotation speed through the touch screen. The system can display the test status and various parameters in real time, and also has a fault alarm function, including water shortage alarms, abnormal pressure alarms, etc., to ensure the safe and stable operation of the test. 

5.Sample holder: It is used to fix the sample to be tested. Some sample holders can achieve 360° rotation, ensuring that all surfaces of the sample can evenly come into contact with rainwater and meeting the requirements for comprehensive waterproof testing. The load-bearing capacity and size of the sample holder can be customized according to the size of the sample to adapt to the testing of different types of products.
